All our tours and experiences at Lodge Punta Marenco are led by local bilingual guides (Spanish–English) with extensive knowledge of the ecosystem. They are scheduled at strategic times according to the activity (morning, afternoon, or night) and last approximately 2 hours, unless otherwise indicated. When back you can have a wonderful meal at our restaurant.

Nature Tours at Punta Río Claro National Wild Life Refuge – Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica
Located in one of the most biodiverse regions on the planet, Lodge Punta Marenco offers access to authentic nature experiences on the Osa Peninsula, ideal for travelers seeking wildlife observation, environmental learning, and responsible tourism in Costa Rica.
All tours take place within and around the Punta Río Claro Wildlife Refuge and are led by local bilingual guides (Spanish–English) with in-depth knowledge of the ecosystem.
Activities are scheduled at strategic times — morning, afternoon, or night — and last approximately 3 hours, unless otherwise specified.

Bird-Watching Tour in the Osa Peninsula
Birdwatching is one of the most outstanding activities for lodge guests. The Punta Río Claro Wildlife Refuge provides a privileged setting to observe birds in the wild, including iconic species such as the scarlet macaw and endemic birds like the black-cheeked ant-tanager.
According to eBird records, approximately 336 bird species have been reported in this area, making it an ideal destination for both beginner birdwatchers and experienced birders visiting the Osa Peninsula.
The tour lasts approximately 2 hours.

Night walks: The Jungle After Dark
As night falls, the tropical forest reveals a completely different dynamic. Night walks explore sounds, behaviors, and species that become active after dusk.
Depending on weather conditions, there is the possibility of observing:
Insects and small invertebrates
Leaf-litter frogs and glass frogs
Snakes and other nocturnal vertebrates
The walk takes place primarily near the Danta stream, a key microhabitat where nighttime biodiversity becomes especially prominent.
The tour lasts approximately 2 hours.

2-Tank Scuba dive
We begin our adventure with a boat ride of approximately 1 hour, departing from Drake Bay to Corcovado National Park, Sirena Station. There, you will enjoy the wildlife of the Corcovado area (the national park with the greatest biodiversity in the world, approximately 3%).
We will take a hike of approximately 1 hour within a total excursion of 4 to 5 hours, where we can observe a wide variety of wildlife, including four species of monkeys, birds, peccaries, coatis, sloths, and, with luck, tapirs.
Around 12:30 p.m., we will take the boat back to Drake Bay.
Includes:
Entrance to Corcovado National Park, certified bilingual ICT (Costa Rican Tourism Institute) guide with a telescope, boat and captain, and a delicious lunch at Sirena Station.
Departure: 6:00 a.m.
Return: between 1:30 and 1:45 p.m.

Tour to Caño Island
This wonderful experience begins with a boat ride of approximately 35 minutes to Caño Island. Once there, we enjoy two snorkeling sessions in different marine areas around the island, each lasting about 45 minutes.
Between the first and second snorkeling sessions, there is a stop on Caño Island (restrooms are available). Afterwards, the boat heads to San Josecito Beach to enjoy a delicious picnic lunch, and then we return to Drake Bay.
This tour includes:

Departure: 7:30 a.m.
Return: 1:00 to 1:30 p.m.
San Pedrillo Ranger Station
We begin with a boat ride of approximately 30 minutes from Lodge to Corcovado National Park, San Pedrillo Station.
There, you will enjoy wildlife and a magnificent primary forest. Two hikes will be conducted within a total excursion of approximately 4 to 5 hours. After the first hike, we return to the station to take a comfortable rest before starting the second hike of about 30 minutes, which will lead us to a spectacular waterfall where you can swim.
Afterwards, we return to San Pedrillo Station to prepare and take the boat back to Punta Manrenco Lodge

Snorkeling Tour in San Josecito
From Lodge Punta Marenco, it is also possible to explore the marine world of the South Pacific with a snorkeling tour in San Josecito, a beach known for its calm and crystal-clear waters.
During the activity, there is the possibility of observing:
Tropical fish
Octopuses, starfish, and sea urchins
Volcanic rock formations
At certain times of the year, the beach also shows signs of sea turtle nesting, adding additional educational value to the experience.
